چکیده
Abstract The accumulation of toxic chemical constituents in sludge and wastewater has fuelled an interest investigating efficient eco-friendly remediation approaches. In this study, a set bacterial samples were isolated from petroleum tested for their ability to degrade different aromatic pollutants, including azo dyes emerging pollutants. Although exhibiting differential specificity, all isolates able classes efficiently. Ribosomal 16S rRNA sequencing the 12 showed that they belonged two genera: Bacillus cereus Pseudomonas guariconensis. Of these strains, MA1 (B. cereus) was most promising chosen further optimization biochemical studies. optimum culture conditions found be at pH 7, with 100 ppm dye concentration, under aerobic condition. addition efficiently degrading various (e.g. Congo Red, Reactive Black 5, PBS, Toluidine Blue), also capable pollutants prometryn, fluometuron sulfamethoxazole). Preliminary transcriptome analysis shows grown on media containing mixture appears differentially express number genes. Data shown here strongly suggests is rich reservoir bacteria powerful abilities.

Bioremediation, or the use of micro-organisms to decontaminate soil or groundwater, is being increasingly seen as an effective, environmentfriendly treatment for oilcontaminated sites. Many reports indicated that, large quantities of organic and inorganic compounds are released into the environments every year as results of human activities causing serious environmental problems. Among those pr...

In this work, CKCr-6A strain was found to be highly resistant to some toxic heavy metals such as Cr+6, Cr+3, Cu+2, Co+2, Cd+2, Pb+2, Hg+2, U+6, tellurium, and selenite. Herein, high chromate tolerance of an isolated strain is reported with a high minimum inhibitory concentration value of 80,000 mg/L and the ...
متن کاملEmerging Pollutants in Aquatic Environment: Source, Effect, and Challenges in Biomonitoring and Bioremediation- A Review
Emerging contaminants are distributed in to the environment from various anthropogenic activities. These Emerging contaminants (ECs) are mainly composed of products, such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products (PCPs), surfactants, plasticizers, pesticides etc. The present conventional system of waste treatment are not designed to treat these contaminants. Complex structure of these pollutan...
متن کاملEx-situ bioremediation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in sewage sludge.
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) are regarded as environmental pollutants. A promising approach to reduce PAH pollution is based on the implementation of the natural potential of some microorganisms to utilize hydrocarbons. In this study Proteiniphilum acetatigenes was used for bioaugmentation of sewage sludge to improve the PAH removal. Bioaugmentation experiments were performed in paral...

Flourene and phenanthrene are organic compounds with high hydrophobicity and toxicity. Being recalcitrant in nature they are accumulating in the environment at an alarming concentration, posing serious threat to living beings. Thus in the present study, microorganisms were screened for their ability to degrade these contaminants at high concentrations in least period of time. Two out of fifteen...
